Trend:

Managing Director of Supportive Agricultural Products Company of Iran Hamid Rasouli announced that Iran's government managed to supply 2.5 million tons of agricultural fertilizers despite the US sanctions.

"The 2.5 million tons of fertilizers is equivalent to 100 percent of Ministry of Agriculture's promise for providing fertilizers in the current year (ends on March 21, 2019) from domestic and foreign sources,” said Rasouli, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

“There is no concern for the supply of fertilizers,” he said.

“Due to suitable rain and subsequent increase in farmers' demand, in the current year, we saw a 30-percent increase in consumption of fertilizers compared to the average consumption in recent decade,” he said.

Rasouli, referring to the strategic warehouses of 320,000 tons of agricultural fertilizers in the company said that given the proper state of supply of fertilizers, maintaining this strategic stocks is the redline for the company.

“Some 81 percent of the company's agricultural fertilizers are supplied from domestic sources,” said Rasouli.
