Imports of goods via customs in Iran’s Kurdistan province drops 79%

Last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), imports of goods via the customs in Iran’s Kurdistan province decreased by 79 percent compared to the previous year, said Director General of the Customs Office of the Kurdistan province Bakhtiyar Rahmanipur, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said that imports of goods decreased by 34 percent in terms of value.

“Last Iranian year, 1,080 tons of products worth $30.9 million were imported via the Sanandaj customs of the province,” he noted, adding that this is 70 percent decrease in terms of weight, compared to the previous year and a 153 percent growth in terms of dollar value.

This is while 12,700 tons of goods worth $14.8 million were imported via the Bashmaq customs, he noted, adding that imports of goods have dropped by 79 percent in terms of weight and 74 percent in terms of dollar value compared to the previous year.

“Products from Iraq, Turkey, Germany, Sweden and Austria have been imported through Iran’s Kurdistan customs,” he said.

He added that 35 percent of the imported goods account for Iraq and 27 percent for Turkey.
