During the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018), 5.2 billion liters of petrol were produced in accordance with the Euro 4 standard in Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refining Company, located in Iran’s central Markazi Province, Alireza Amin, Managing Director of Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refining Company, told IRNA, Trend reports.
According to Amin, the petrol produced at the refinery constitutes more than a fifth of Iran's petrol consumption. The petrol produced at the refinery is consumed in the provinces of Tehran, Alborz, Isfahan, Markazi and Razavi Khorasan.
"Last year, the plant produced 230 million liters of premium petrol, 430 million liters of white oil and 4 billion liters of diesel," he said.
Amin noted that 1.2 million cubic meters of gas were also produced at the refinery last year.
He added that the daily production of the refinery also included 500 tons of propylene, 400 tons of granulated sulfur, 2,000 tons of liquefied gas, 16 million liters of Euro 4 petrol, 13 million liters of Euro 4 diesel and 4 million liters of fuel oil.
Imam Khomeini Shazand Oil Refinery is one of the major oil refineries in Iran producing petrol in accordance with the Euro 4 standard. The current capacity of the plant stands at 171,000 barrels per day.
