As much as 12 trillion rials (about $285 million) will be spent on the development of Iran’s Danan oil field in the Dehloran district of Iran’s Ilam province, the district governor Majid Asgari said, Trend reports via IRNA.

He said that this project will start in the near future.

He added that 4 percent of the funds belong to the program committee of the district, and this makes about 480 billion rials (about $11.4 million).

“The Danan project will start its work within a one-year period and create a lot of jobs,” he said.

Danan oil field was discovered in 2007 and oil extraction started in 2014.

Presently, 26,000 barrels of crude oil are extracted from the Danan field. The extracted oil is transported to the Dehloran production unit and further to the Cheshmeh Khosh production unit of the West Oil and Gas Production Company via a 16-inch 52 km pipeline.
