Exports from Iran’s North Khorasan province drop

Last Iranian year (started on March 21, 2018), exports from Iran’s North Khorasan province have dropped by 10 percent compared to the previous year, said Amin Ghorbani, director of Foreign Trade Department of North Khorasan Province Industry, Mine and Trade Organization, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said that exports from the North Khorasan province last Iranian year totaled $134.5 million, while it was planned to export goods worth $160 million.

He added that the imports of goods in the province reached $26 million, and this shows an approximately 116 percent increase over the previous year.

In his words, the cost of the exports in the previous Iranian year (started on March 21, 2017) was $138 million. “Last Iranian year, the share of industry in North Khorasan province was $28 million and the share of petrochemicals was $89 million,” he said.

He added that the share of the agricultural sector in the province’s exports was $16.5 million.

“In accordance with the 6th Development Program, $205 million had to be allocated for exports in the North Khorasan province,” he said. “However, taking into account the current situation, $150 million have been allocated for exports in the province this Iranian year (started March 21, 2019).”
