Tehran-Ankara train will be re-launched soon, Iran’s Deputy Minister for Roads and Urban Development and Managing Director of Railways of the Islamic Republic of Iran (RAI) Saeid Rasouli said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He said that discussions were held to resume the operation of this train, adding that soon it will start operating in Tehran-Tabriz-Van-Ankara direction.

Commenting on the agreement on the exchange of railcars between Iran, Turkey and the CIS countries, he said that signing of this agreement will result in an increase in transportation.

“Turkish experts will travel to Iran and promote development of ties between the two countries’ computer systems in the railway sector,” he noted.

This will result in facilitation of the exchange of goods and information about cargoes, loaded products and other data.

Touching upon the permanent membership of Iran in the 70th session of the CIS Council for Rail Transport in Helsinki, he said that this membership is a good opportunity for the development of international and transit traffic that can facilitate the rail transit between Iran and Central Asian countries.
