Iran names volumes of wheat crops to be harvested from Gulustan province

Some 120,000 tons of wheat will be harvested in Aqqala county of Iran’s north-eastern Gulustan province, Ali Akbar Arab Ahmadi, head of the agriculture organization of Aqqala county of Gulustan province, said.

Wheat crops will be harvested from approximately a 40,000 hectare-area, Ahmadi added, Trend reports referring to IRNA News Agency.

Ahmadi added that the damage was caused to 11,500 hectares out of 52,000 hectares of wheat as a result of floods.

The damage was also caused to about 5,000 hectares out of 14,000 hectares of barley and about 2,500 tons of barley will be harvested from approximately a 9,000 hectare-area, he said.

The damage was caused to about 1,250 hectares of rape out of 4,100 hectares in Aqqala county.

Some 6,600 tons of rape will be harvested from the rest territory, he added.
