Iran agenda is to cut its budget's direct dependency on oil sales via a reform plan, said Hamid Pourmohammadi, an official with Iran's Planning and Budget Organization.

"Our approach in a structural reform plan is to cut the direct budget ties to oil revenues,” said Pourmohammadi, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.

"The budget structural reform plan has been completed to manage the unilateral sanctions against Iranian people. The plan is available on the organization's website," he noted.

"Although the current Iranian year (March21,2019) will be a difficult year but the necessary measures have been taken to reduce costs and increase wages, so there would not be any problem in payments," he added.

"The budget in the last Iranian year (March21, 2018) faced problems in financial resources but the development budget had good growth, while the subsides were paid without delay,” he said.

"While there was intensive need for oil export revenues in 2018, but $17.5 billion still was assigned to the import of basic goods for people,” he indicated.
