Export of Iranian products up

The export of Iranian goods increased by eight percent while import decreased by eight percent within two months (from March 21 to May 21) this Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), Iranian Deputy Economy and Finance Minister and Director General of the Customs Administration Mehdi Mirashrafi said in an interview with Fars news agency, Trend reports.

Iran's trade balance reached $1.6 billion during the reporting period, Mirashrafi added.

He said that 942,000 tons of products were imported till June 15, which is 22 percent more compared to the same period of last year (over 771,000 tons).

The entire foreign trade volume reached $15.1 billion, $6.76 billion of that amount accounts for the import while $8.41 billion - for export, Mirashrafi added.

He stressed that liquefied gas worth $2.52 billion, gas condensate worth $412 million, other light oil and oil products except gasoline worth $310 million, liquefied propane worth $292 million and methanol worth $236 million were exported.

Rice worth $472 million, feed corn worth $369 million, soybean worth $243 million and butter worth $223 million were imported, Mirashrafi added.
