Iran's Chadormalu pellet plant to increase production up to 4 million tons

Production at Chadormalu pellet plant in Ardakan county of Iran's Yazd province will increase up to four million tons of pellet per year, director of Iran's Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company Mahmood Mosirrinejad said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Mosirrinejad noted that in the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), 3.7 million tons of pellet were produced at this complex.

Moreover, three units of the company, Arfa (800,000 tons), Ghadir Iranian (800,000 tons) and Chadormalu (1.6 million tons), will increase direct reduced iron production to up to 3.2 million tons per annum, Mosirrinejad said.

He noted that in the last year, steel ore production amounted to 840,000 tons and 30,000 tons of it were exported.

In the current year (started March 21, 2019), it's planned to export 80,000 tons of steel ore, he added.

A 500 megawatt power plant is being constructed as part of the company, Mosirrinejad said, adding that this power plant will be of great value in meeting the needs of Iran's electricity grid.

The number of the company's employees reach 7,000.
