Iran exports $1.1M worth of beauty products to UK

Iran's exports to UK during last year stood at over $21.33 million in general, Amir Hoshang Amini the vice president of Iranian-British joint Chamber of Commerce told Trend.

"The mentioned goods were sent to the UK via 26 Iranian customs checkpoints. Meanwhile, Iran has imported products worth over $548 million from UK in 2018," he said.

According to the statistics provided to Trend by the official, petrochemical products, carpets, food items were Iran's major exports to the UK.

Also, according to the statistics, the following items were exported to the UK:

- high volume of steel and metal rods valued at $5.7 million were exported through the Shahid Rajaee port;

- the Imam Khomeini petrochemical complex exported $1.1 million worth of polyethylene, film grids;

- Iranian saffron, generally exported from Mashhad customs, was worth near $102,000 while steel rods valued at $450,000 were exported via the Yazd customs checkpoints;

- Iran also exported dates valued at $23,000 via Astara customs checkpoints;

Amir Hoshang Amini also provided a report on Iran's imports from the UK, that show that major imports from this country were machinery, equipment and animal feed.

The report indicates that $404 million worth of goods have been imported from UK through Imam Khomeini Port, including soy bean (valued at $131 million) and press cake ($68 million).

Also, electric generators worth $5 million were imported via the Imam Khomeini Airport Customs. In general, the airport's share of total imports from the UK hit some $40 million.

The import statistics also include:

- Around $6,000 worth of liquid soap via Urmia customs;

- $185,000 worth of rail tracks imported from Sahlan customs;

- $695,000 worth of scrap battery imported through Qom customs;

- $745,000 worth of fresh or freezed lamb imported through Astara customs;

- around $3.8 million worth of barley and animal corn imported through Anzali port;

- $198,000 worth of clothes imported from Payam Special Economic Zone customs;

- $311,000 worth of cosmetics and beauty products imported via Imam Khomeini, Tehran and Shiraz Special Economic Zone customs;

- $25,000 worth of fruit concentrates via Saveh customs;

- $45,000 worth of cat and dog food through Shahid Rajaee port customs;

- $5,000 worth of pencil sharpeners though the Bushehr Free Zone;

The UK has also exported turbojet parts to Iran via Shiraz Special Economic Zone, worth some $2 million, as well as $2.9 million worth of barley via the Shahid Bahonar customs and the Amirabad port.
