Iran's ethane production will reach 16 million tons in 2021, Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh said at the opening ceremony of the 13th International Exhibition IranPlast, Trend reports citing Shana News Agency.
Zanganeh noted that the country's ethane production amounted to 4.2 million tons in 2013, and reached 7.3 million tons in 2018.
In 2021, the minister added, Persian Gulf Bid Boland Gas Refinery will produce 3.4 million tons of ethane, NGL 3200 project - eight million tons, NGL 3100 - 900,000 tons, Kharg Petrochemical Complex - 2.4 million tons, Parsian Sepehr Refinary - 3.3 million tons, and Kangan Refinery - 3.5 million tons.
Flare gas recovery projects are also being implemented by Persian Gulf Holding Company and Marun Petrochemical Co. with $1.2 billion of investment, the minister added.
