In the first six months (March 21-Sept.22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, Iran's exports via customs of its South Khorasan province reached $151 million in monetary terms, Chairman of South Khorasan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Davoud Shahraki said, Trend reports via IRNA.

Iran's other provinces accounted for $102 million of the above mentioned amount, while the exports of the South Khorasan itself accounted for only $49 million, according to Shahraki.

Due to the fact that South Khorasan shares 331 kilometers of lands border with Afghanistan, 90 percent of the province's exports accounted for this country, Shahraki said.

Iran's exports via South Khorasan has decreased by 44 percent in terms of value, he noted.

Currently, 12 large, 16 medium and 513 small industrial enterprises operate in the province, Shahraki said.

He further added that Iran's imports from Afghanistan to South Khorasan are not significant - $26 million in the first six months of the current Iranian year.
