As many as 210 solar water heaters will be installed and commissioned soon in the remote areas of Iran’s Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province, said Khodabakhsh Jangali, deputy director of the Department of Natural Resources and Watershed of the province, Trend reports citing IRNA.
He said that 80 solar water heaters have been already distributed among the population so far.
He added that 7 billion rials (about $166,000) were spent on the purchase of solar water heaters.
As of the beginning of this Iranian year (began March 21, 2019), 800 solar water heaters were installed in the remote areas of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province. Residents in the highlands and inaccessible areas of the province, which has 871,000 hectares of forests, cut down a lot of trees in these forests each year to obtain fuel.
