Iran's exports via North Khorasan province exceed $50M

In the first six months (from March 21 to Sept. 22, 2019) of the current Iranian year, exports of Iran's North Khorasan province reached $51.8 million in monetary terms, Deputy Chairman of North Khorasan Industry, Mine and Trade Organization Amin Ghorbani said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

In terms of weight, the province's exports reached 184,800 tons during the reported period, Ghorbani said.

The exports, compared to the same period of the previous Iranian year (from March 21,2018 to March 21,2019), decreased by 14.3 percent in monetary terms and by 22.2 percent in terms of weight, the deputy chairman added.

According to him, main exports of North Khorasan were petrochemicals, rubber, steel and foodstuffs, .

During the reported period, 171,400 tons of petrochemicals were exported for $41.8 million, Ghorbani said.

Main destinations of North Khorasan's exports were Afghanistan (31 percent), India (26 percent), China (8.5 percent) and Malaysia (7.9 percent).

Ghorbani noted that in the reported period, Iran exported 100,000 tons of goods for $26.6 million via customs of North Khorasan. The deputy chairman added that the exports via the province's customs increased by 63.2 percent in terms of weight and by 58.8 percent in monetary terms, compared to the same period of the last Iranian year.

The goods exported via the province's customs were mainly supplied to Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and India, Ghorbani said.

During the reported period, 2,300 tons of goods woth $14 million were imported via customs of North Khorasan, the deputy chairman said.

The imports decreased by 25.2 in terms of weight and by 30.3 percent in monetary terms, he added.
