Gasoline consumption in Iran should be controlled, energy expert Hossein Aghayan said, Trend reports via ISNA.

The expert noted that price changes should also be made.

The Iranian expert on energy issues said that gasoline in Iran is very cheap. Given that every ton of gasoline costs $600, every liter of gasoline costs 45,000 rials (about $1.07) at the production site, Aghayan noted.

In Iran, the price of one liter of gasoline is 10,000 rials ($0.23 at the official exchange rate and $0.08 at the black market rate).

Two years ago (from March 21, 2017 to March 21, 2018), 77.4 million liters of gasoline were consumed in Iran, however, this figure rose to 88.4 million liters last year (from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019).
