Iran may provide Europe and India with electricity

While using the potential of solar and wind energy, Iran may provide Europe and India with electricity, Iranian Deputy Minister of Energy and Executive Director of the Renewable Energy Organization Mohammad Sadeghzadeh said.

Sadeghzadeh made the remarks in Iran at the opening ceremony of the 4th international conference and exhibition on renewable energy, Trend reports on Oct. 16 referring to IRNA.

“Iran has huge potential in the renewable energy sector,” the deputy minister added. “Despite all the problems, Iran pays special attention to this sphere.”

“Presently, 40,000 people work in this sector and the number of employees will exceed 100,000 till the end of next year (until March 21, 2021).”

He expressed hope that the capacity of small and big stations in the renewable energy industry will exceed 100,000 megawatts.

The potential of Iran’s power plants in the field of renewable energy reaches over 800,000 megawatts.
