By Elnur Baghishov - Trend:

This Iranian year (March 21, 2019 - March 21, 2020), Iran’s mining industry exports will total $10 billion, said Iran’s Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Jafar Sarqeyni, Trend reports referring to Mehr news agency.

Sarqeyni said that this figure will exceed the planned value of the mining products' exports for this Iranian year, which was $9 billion.

The deputy minister added that during the first six months (March 21 - September 22) of this Iranian year, steel exports exceeded 6 million tons.

“Iran’s steel exports will reach 12 million tons by the end of the [Iranian] year,” Sarqeyni said.

The deputy minister noted that in addition to steel exports, the copper exports increased by 10-15 percent, adding that the US sanctions regarding steel and mining products against Iran have been ineffective.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran in November 2018 and expanded the list of sanctions several times.
