Number of licenses for industrial enterprises up in Iranian province

The number of licenses issued for operations of industrial enterprises located in Iran’s western Kurdistan province increased by 51 percent from March 21 through September 22 of this Iranian year (began on March 21, 2019) compared to the same period of last year, Deputy Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of the province Peyman Almasi said in an interview with IRNA.

“Forty-four industrial enterprises received the licenses for operations during the reporting period,” Almasi added, Trend reports.

The deputy chairman noted that only 29 licenses were issued for the operation of enterprises in the same period of last year.

“From March 21 through September 22, licenses were also issued for establishing 340 industrial enterprises,” Almasi said. “Meanwhile, in the same period last year, the licenses were issued to establish only 206 enterprises, which shows an increase by more than 65 percent.”

“There are 838 industrial enterprises in the province,” the deputy chairman added. “Some 707 of them are currently operating, while 131 have stopped the activity.”

“Some 16,000 people could work at these industrial enterprises,” Almasi said. “Presently, 11,800 people work at these enterprises.”

The deputy chairman added that the investments worth 25 trillion rials ($833 million) have been made in these enterprises.
