Iran’s biggest greenhouse park has been laid in the Khodabandeh district of Iran’s Zanjan province, Trend reports referring to the Iranian Agricultural Parks Company’s website.
The park’s groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Managing Director of the Iranian Agricultural Parks Company Ali Ashraf Mansori, Dutch Ambassador to Iran Jacques Werner, Director of the Zanjan Province Agriculture Department Javad Tarasi and other officials.
The greenhouse park will be built on an area of 13 hectares with an investment of 2.7 trillion rials (about $64.2 million).
The funds for the construction will be allocated in the form of a loan from Keshavarzi Bank in Zanjan province.
It is reported that the greenhouse will bring profit of 20 million euros, by growing 20 million Damask roses per year.
The park will provide employment for 330 people.
Reportedly, the Netherlands may take part in the park's construction project.
