Iran is going to start exporting tomato paste to Russia, Executive Director of Iran Agricultural Cooperatives Trading Co. Amin Shalchian said, Trend reports citing Mehr News Agency.
A corresponding agreement on tomato paste exports has been already signed, Shalchian said.
The director noted that initially, some 400 tons of tomato paste will be exported to Russia as a test batch.
This year, necessary conditions have been created for the exports of tomato paste made from the tomatoes procured from Iranian farmers, the director said.
Touching upon exports of other agricultural goods, Shalchian noted that 1,000 ton of kiwi fruits has been exported to Italy in the current Iranian year (began March 21, 2019).
Italy is also a kiwi exporter, the director said. Therefore, Italy imports Iranian kiwi for $0.55 and then sells it to other parties under an Italian brand, according to the director.
