Iran discloses volume of X-ray equipment required by customs checkpoints

The Iranian customs checkpoints need 50 pieces of X-ray equipment, Director General of the Iranian Customs Administration Mehdi Mirashrafi said.

“Presently, 16 pieces of X-ray equipment are used in the Iranian customs checkpoints,” Mirashrafi added, Trend reports referring to the Young Journalists Club.

The director general added that most of equipment required by Iran's customs checkpoints is made by local producers.

“Five pieces of X-ray equipment were purchased from the Iranian Defense Ministry,” Mirashrafi said. “Two of them are being used. The remaining three will be used till the end of the year (March 21, 2020).”

The director general said that X-ray equipment will be installed at the gate of Iran's biggest customs during the next 10 months.

Mirashrafi said that a contract for the production of equipment by a local manufacturer was signed.

The Iranian Customs Administration has announced about the need to buy X-ray equipment from local producers for customs checkpoints at the beginning of this year (beginning on March 21, 2019). The Iranian Customs Administration is also looking for a local investor.
