The second phase of Goldstone Company's plant for the production of trucks and bus tires is ready for operation in Iran’s north-western Ardabil province, governor of the Ardabil Akbar Behnamcu said.
Behnamcu made the remark in Iran after reviewing the work carried out in the second phase of the plant, Trend reports referring to IRNA.
“The plant will produce 300,000 trucks and buses a year within the second phase,” the governor added.
Behnamcu added that the investments worth $60 million and three trillion rials (about $71.4 million) were made in the second phase of the plant.
The governor said that 400 people will be employed within the second phase.
“The third phase of the plant will be constructed in cooperation with the government and banks to produce tires for asphalt pavers,” Behnamcu said.
“Presently, tires for asphalt pavers are imported,” he said. “After the construction and commissioning of this phase, 85 percent of the domestic demand will be met through this plant.”
Iran's Goldstone Company produces various cars, pickup trucks, small trucks, agricultural machines and so on. The company also exports vehicles to more than 20 countries.
