In the current Iranian year (started on March 21, 2019), small industrial enterprises located in the industrial parks of Iran's Qazvin province have exported goods for $70 million, Executive Director of Qazvin Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIPO) Hamedreza Khanpour said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

The exports were supplied to various countries, including Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, India, Thailand, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands and Canada, according to the director.

The main products exported included processed raisins and dates, steel products, raw materials for detergents, industrial rubber, metasilicate sodium, polyester threads, paraffin and various wood products, Hamidreza Khanpour added.

Th value of the aforementioned small industrial enterprises' exports is expected to reach $100 million by the end of the current Iranian year (by March 21, 2020), the director said.

Despite the US sanctions imposed on Iran, small enterprises of Qazvin are striving to export their products and bring foreign currency to the country, Khanpour stressed.

There are 19 industrial parks and one industrial city in Iran's Qazvin province. About 90 percent of the enterprises located in the province's industrial parks are comprised of small and medium enterprises.

The US imposed sanctions on Iran and expanded them in several stages. The sanctions have caused stagnation in the Iranian economy.
