Iran could have useful commercial relations with Finland, said the director of the Europe and America Department at Trade Promotion Organization.

"Finland's industrial, wood and cellulose products are useful for Iran. In terms of trade with Iran, Finland is ranked lower than big European countries including Germany, Italy, and France. These big countries have limited their relations with Iran after the US withdrawal from the JCPOA," Behrouz Olfat told Trend in an interview.

He went on to say that the Europeans have indicated that any trade discussions would depend on the JCPOA situation, all commercial relations with Iran have been stopped due to sensitivities of these countries," he said.

"China and Russia have not accepted the US sanctions too much and their companies are negotiating with Iran but Europeans are different. We should wait for US President-elect Joe Biden's approach toward the JCPOA and whether it would be positive it is expected that the process of a possible return to the deal would take six months and after that Iran could discuss relations with Finland and European countries," he added.

"These countries have their own consideration but our studies show that Finland is interested to work with Iran and is a positive country. We have categorized countries as positive, negative, and neutral. Currently, we have no specific plan in terms of developing trade with Finland but if sanctions are lifted we know the proper fields of cooperation with this country," he noted.
