Central Bank of Iran's priority is to utilize monetary instruments and upgrade open market operation, as well as reform economic policy making in the government and manage the budget plan in the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021), said the Governor of Central Bank of Iran Abdolnasser Hemmati, Trend reports via IRNA.
Hemmati said the CBI's priorities include: increasing value of national currency by controlling and limiting liquidity growth, limiting monetary base growth, manage limitations in bank liquidity.
"Improving market stability, managing fluctuation, trying to make foreign currency rate predictable are also among the priorities," he said.
Hemmati also pointed out that the CBI is working to unfreeze Iran's blocked assets abroad.
He also said the bank continues to battle money laundering through monitoring of banking transactions, controlling loans, etc.
The CBI governor has indicated the economy in the current Iranian year (started March 21,2021) would be more stable than in the preceding year, since no new economic shock has occurred in Iran and economic growth would continue, but necessary precautions must be implemented.
