Iran's National Security Commission and Foreign Policy discusses cooperation accord with China

TEHRAN, Iran, Mar.30

Trend:

The Iranian parliament is ready to provide aid to the government about the implementation of the strategic accord, said the head of Parliament's National Security Commission and Foreign Policy.

"The parliament is ready to provide assistance to the government where ever necessary for law reform or new legislation. The parliament would monitor the following (Iran and China cooperation agreement) document with seriousness and special sensitivity toward the protection of national interests," said Mojtaba Zolnouri, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

"Foreign Minister would be invited to the parliament or National Security Commission after Nowruz holiday to provide necessary explanations about content and the various dimension of this document. We would review the original document to see if Iran has created an obligation that needs to be followed according to the constitution," he noted.

"The following document predicted China's investment in Iran's free zones and infrastructure development would turn them into areas that could re-export commodity but the annual foreign investment in free zones is 2.5 percent due to lack of infrastructure," Zolnouri pointed out.

"Chinese are committed to having special investment in these (free) zones, and does not mean that they would be the owner of the place, they would obtain their investment interest by the free zone revenue that they invested. The principle of this approach is right and we are seeking to form this approach with Russia to reduce western pressures," he added.
