Iran's import from the UK during 11 months of the last Iranian year (started March 20,2020) stood at $1billion, president of the British-Iranian Chamber of Commerce (BICC) Amir Houshang Amini, told Trend in an interview.

"Iran's export to UK in the last Iranian year (started March 20,2020) was about $20 million," said Amini.

"Iran's major export to Great Britain were dates, food items, meanwhile cheese and powdered milk were also added to the list in the last Iranian year (started March 20,2020), but the volume was low," he said.

"Imported items from the UK were worth $1 billion in this period, it included animal feed and medicine," he said.

"It was said that import of COVID-19 vaccine from the UK and the US is not allowed, but the private sector in Iran could do it, and yet it is impossible without the coordination with the Ministry of Health," said Amini.

"Due to lack of possibility to transfer money, commercial relations with any country including UK has slowed down and if this situation improves, the relations between Iran and UK would be solved. Iran has no problem as far as trade with this country goes," he said.

"There are commodities that we traditionally exported and imported, Iran's export was mostly food items and industrial products," he said.
