Iran's MFA director general of economic diplomacy Seyed Rasoul Mohajer said the economic activities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have become important and the level of economic planning of provincial offices and Iranian embassies abroad has become more decisive, Trend reports via IRNA.
Mohajer has recently held his first virtual meeting with heads of the Foreign Ministry's provincial offices across the country.
“Despite the fact that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is not responsible for the country's foreign trade, but as a facilitator, it can play a great role in the development and promotion of the country's foreign relations,” said Mohajer.
He stated that the Ministries of Foreign Affairs all over the world do not have provincial offices.
“But the establishment of the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in all provinces of the country has been done with the intention of using the economic capacities of the provinces as much as possible,” he explained.
Mohajer went on to say that the close relations between the heads of MFA provincial offices and provincial economic officials in the public and private sectors will play a significant role in identifying and reducing the existing obstacles.
