Trend:

The trade balance of Iran's West Azerbaijan Province increased in terms of value to $4.4 billion in the past seven and half years due to development of businesses, Trend reports via IRNA.

Official statistics show that West Azerbaijan Province's export volume increased by 70 percent and value had a 9-percent growth during the first term of Hassan Rouhani's government (from 2013-2017) compared to the preceding government.

The low growth in the value of export during this time indicates most exported products from the West Azerbaijan were either raw materials or sold with low prices.

Following the government policies in the second ruling term (2017-present), the province's export had a 5-percent growth in volume and 168 percent increase in value.

"A total of $6.7 million worth of commodities has been exported from West Azerbaijan Province to different countries during the past seven years," said deputy governor of West Azerbaijan Province Nader Sadeghi.
