Iran increases highways in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

The Iranian government has increased the length of highways in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province to five times more by operating 200 kilometers highway during the past eight years, said Director General of Roads and Urban Development in the province.

Operation of Babameydan- Gachsaran- Behbahan highway in 145 kilometers with $61 million investment is one of the remarkable projects road developments in the province, said Pejman Nikeghbali, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The following project was a megaproject in the province with 187 bridges, 8.3 square meters retaining wall, 221 tons of asphalt, 16 U-Turn more than 20 meters guardrail, the construction cost of this road has been $46 million so far. About 107 kilometers of this national project and transit road is in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province and the rest is in Fars and Khuzestan provinces," he said.

The construction of Yasouj – Shiraz highway with $10 investment was a significant project in the province. A total of 47 projects in road constructions has operated in the province since 2013 with a $172 million investment.

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province is located in the transit route of the International North-South Transport Corridor.
