Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade of Iran Alireza Razm Hosseini said the sanctions have caused the import of cars into Iran to stop, so the market is not competitive, Trend reports citing Fars News Agency.

"The plan to offer cars via the Stock Exchange has been proposed in the parliament and the Parliamentary Industries Commission is working on its details, but its implementation is not yet finalized,” Hosseini said.

Referring to the plans to balance car prices, he said there is good cooperation between the Ministry of Industry, Mines and Trade and the Industries Commission of the parliament in this regard.

"We are waiting for an opportunity to implement this plan, and we hope that the prices will improve with the implementation of this plan," he noted. "According to the joint Parliament and the Ministry plan, the cars will be divided into two groups - public and non-public cars, he said.

He expressed hope that the new plan will have an impact on prices.

"Iran's car production capacity is over 2 million cars per year, while 1.6 million cars are produced in the country,” he said.
