International negotiations are underway so that Iran would join the countries with satellite systems, said Minister of Information and Communications Technology.
"We should be prepared for learning satellite internet technology. Satellite internet is defiantly not a threat to us and we would use the opportunities," said Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"Some of the strict regulations in Iran should be reformed or managed. Iran has territorial regulations for utilizing satellite technologies and companies should obtain permits from us if they want to comply with international law," he noted.
"Satellite internet is a phenomenon that prepares the ground for the internet of things across the world and could connect to remote areas. The internet of things could solve the issue in Zagros and Golestan National Park. Iran's digital economy had a good growth despite sanctions and we would defiantly grow in the field of satellite internet," he added.
