Iran's processed agricultural industries increase production capacity

Iran's Ministry of Agriculture has announced that processing, package, and preserving agricultural products have increased from 32 million tons to 72 million during the past eight years.

The number of processed food industries in the country in 2012 was 6,452 industrial units with 32 million tons capacity and jobs for 61,500 since 2013, more than 6,000 units were operated with 40 million tons capacity, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Fruit and vegetable processing and packaging factories' capacity has increased from 8 million tons in 2012 to 14 million tons in 2020.

The organic fertilizer production capacity has increased from 370,000 tons in 2012 to 1.9 million tons in 2020 and the 3 million tons capacity of the industrial silo. Medical herb production developed in the past eight years.

Isfahan Province is an effective area in the country in the agriculture industry that reaches success during this period. The production capacity of processed agricultural industries had increased 2.3 times in Isfahan Province during the past eight years.

There are 662 production factories as subsidiaries of the Industry, Mine, and Trade Organization with a production capacity of 8 million tons.

Improving processed industries would increase production and revenue and diversify customers and create new markets.
