Necessary permits for construction of power plants by large industries have been issues, managing director of Iran's Thermal Power Plants Holding Company (TPPH) Mohsen TarzTalab said, Trend reports via IRNA.
"Large and high-consumption industries of steel, mining and metal have been applying for a permit for the construction of power plant units," he explained.
He went on to say that the minister of Industry, Mines and Trade has reviewed 13 requests and submitted the final decision to the Energy Ministry of Iran.
Talking about the details of the permits, he said the following companies applied for the permits:
Mobarakeh Steel Co. for 1,500 MW of new capacity
Persian Gulf Special Zone for 1,500 MW
Almahdi Aluminum Complex for 500 MW,
Chadormalu Mining and Industrial Company (CMIC) for 1,000 MW
Golgohar Mining & Industrial Co. for 1,300 MW
TarzTalab stated that the volume of investment by the mentioned industries is 6 billion euros for the generation of 10,536 MW of electricity.
