Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce talks potential trade capasity

TEHRAN, Iran, July 21

Trend:

The chairman of the Iran-China Joint Chamber of Commerce said that Iran's trade with China has never been affected by political conditions.

In 2016, the 10-year trade capacity of the two countries was announced at $60 billion, Majid Reza Hariri said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

He went on to say that the trade between the two countries has reached $51.8 billion.

Regarding the decrease in Iran-China trade during the spring, Hariri noted that the assessment of imports and exports with one country should be reviewed within a year.

He stressed that in different periods of time, price reductions affect the trade value of the two countries, but in the coming months, there is a possibility of price growth.

He went on to say that the imports and exports relations between Iran and China have been increasing in all past years.

“For the past decade, Beijing has been the first trading partner of Iran, despite all the difficulties.”

Emphasizing that Iran-China relations have an economic basis, not a political one, he said that if sanctions are lifted, which is the biggest trade barrier, we can once again significantly increase the value of economic exchanges between the two countries.

According to the Iranian customs statistics, the total foreign trade of Iran in the spring was 38.4 million tons of goods worth $20.9 billion, of which 30 million tons of goods worth $10.7 billion was the share of export and 8.4 million tons of goods worth $10.2 billion was the share of import into the country.
