There are 47,500 production factories in industrial towns of Iran, 18 percent of which, equivalent to 8,500 units, are inactive, Deputy interior minister of Iran Babak Dinparast said, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"There are 1,111 towns, industrial zones and special economic zones in the country, of which 828 zones, equivalent to 82 percent, are active,” Babak Dinparast said during a visit to Kerman province.
“Kerman, with 42 industrial towns, has 1,350 production factories,” he said adding that 21 percent of the total province`s factories are inactive.
Referring to his visit to two cement production factories in Kerman, he said their main problem was the power outage, which was felt across the entire country.
“These cement factories could have a production of 3,500 tons, but unfortunately its production has reduced to 1,000 tons per day," he said.
