Iran assigns more credit for home construction

TEHRAN, Iran, July 31

Construction of 140,000 housing units for low income families in Iran is ongoing, and additionally $952 million of credit was assigned for the project, head of Plan and Budget Organization Mohammad Bagher Nobakht said, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"A total of $1.5 billion worth of credit was assigned to construction in form of loan with a 4-percent interest rate, which would be paid to the Plan and Budget Organization," said Nobakht.

"So far 3,000 qualified applicants were identified and introduced to agent banks and 2,550 individuals have signed contracts," he said during his visit to Gilan Province.

"The government has also assigned $57 million worth of credit for construction of 3,000 housing units in Gilan Province," he said.

The plan to construct 3,000 housing units was signed between the Plan and Budget Organization, Housing Foundation and the governorate of Gilan Province in 2020.
