Iran sees increase in heavy oil prices

The latest OPEC monthly report showed that the price of Iranian heavy oil last month grew by about 2 percent on a monthly basis.

The price of Iranian heavy crude oil reached $72.98 per barrel in July, which increased by $1.30, which means a 1.8 percent increase compared to $71.68 in June, Trend reports citing ISNA.

The average price of Iranian heavy oil since the beginning of 2021 has been $65.01 compared to $38.54 in the same period last year.

The price of the OPEC basket in July reached $73.53 per barrel, which was the highest monthly average since October 2018.

The average price of the OPEC basket since the beginning of 2021 has been $65.27 per barrel, which compared shows an increase of $25.43 compared to the same period last year.

According to reports, OPEC oil production of 13 countries in July reached 26.66 million barrels per day, which means an increase of 0.64 million barrels per day compared to June.

Oil production increased mainly in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Nigeria, but decreased in Angola and Venezuela.
Iran's oil production increased by 15,000 barrels per day in July compared to the previous month, reaching 2.485 million barrels per day.
