Iran develops trade ties with neighboring countries

TEHRAN, Iran, June 24. The Iranian government is developing trade and export ties with neighboring countries, said an expert in international affairs Ahmad Salehi, Trend reports citing IRNA.

"The Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade approach is to develop trade ties and the private sector has also signed agreements with neighboring countries," he said.

He pointed out that statistics show Iran has exported $1 billion in petrochemical and steel products in addition to other materials during the current administration that created jobs in the country.

He went on to say that developing trade infrastructure, the preferential trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), creating logistics corridors and Iran's permanent membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization were some of the actions to promote trade.

According to the expert, Iran's trade with Russia has doubled in the last Iranian year(started March 21, 2021) and export is expected to triple in the next two years.
