Iranian FM: New proposals offered to provide Tehran reactor with fuel

Iran's Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki met with the Brazilian and French official within the framework of the World Economic Forum in Davos. The Brazilian and French officials offered new proposals in connection with fuel for the Tehran Reactor, Mottaki said at the news conference following his meetings.

The states that signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) should use the nuclear energy in peaceful means, Mottaki added.

Earlier in December 2009, IAEA proposed Iran to transmit 1,200 kg, 3.5-percent enriched uranium to Russia and receive 20-percent enriched uranium from France to provide fuel for the Tehran nuclear reactor. Iran has so far not given a concrete response to this proposal.
