Security in the Persian Gulf would be jeopardized if Americans commit the slightest mistake, the deputy commander of the Revolutionary Guards Corps Sepah for Political Affairs Yadollah Javani said after the statement by Admiral Mike Mullen, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the highest-ranking officer in the U.S. Armed Forces regarding the fact that the U.S. has military plans against Iran, Iranian İRNA news agency reported.

Washington is "extremely concerned" about the prospect of a military engagement, Mullen said in an interview to NBC. He said the military plan is on the table. All depends on Barack Obama's choice.

"The Persian Gulf is a strategic region and if it is endangered they (Americans) will suffer losses and our response will be firm," Javani said.
