Iranian Atomic Energy Organization head slams speech by IAEA's Amano

The chairman of the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization Ali Akbar Salehi said that a speech given by the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano, is very dangerous and a serious mistake, Iranian news agency İRNA reported.

"Amano's speech indicates that he was under serious pressure," Salehi said.

In a speech delivered Monday to a meeting of IAEA Board of Governors, Amano criticized Iran for barring two IAEA inspectors from visiting the country. He added that the IAEA has failed to confirm the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program.

"Countries have the right to choose inspectors who carry out inspections. Similarly, some Western countries do not allow the IAEA inspectors from Asian countries to inspect their countries," Salehi said.
