Israeli defense minister stands for tightening sanctions
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak stands for tightening sanctions against Iran, ITAR-TASS reported with reference to the "Le Figaro" newspaper.
"Iran still strives for creating nuclear weapons," he said. "It supports terrorism across the region. Iran intends to take control over the entire Gulf region."
"The problem is to determine when this country will overcome the invisible boundary, after which it will be impossible for other countries to prevent it to create nuclear weapons," he said. "The rest period is not quite long - just a few quarters or six months. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen the sanctions against Iran."
The U.S and some Western countries accuse Iran of producing nuclear weapons. Iran denies the allegation and insists its enrichment activities only seek peaceful purposes.
