Iran is ready for nuclear negotiations, only if it will be a win-win scenario, country's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said, ISNA reported.

Salehi was responding to the earlier statements of U.S. Department of State regarding Iran.

"Iran has never said that it steps away from diplomacy, we have always welcomed it," Salehi said.

Iran has not yet halted its nuclear program, which the Western states believe is being used for military purposes. Iran denies all accusations, noting that its nucler program is only for peaceful purposes.

Speculation had grown in Israel in recent weeks that an attack on Iran could taker place before the US presidential election in November.

A unilateral Israeli strike is opposed by Washington and the international community, and Israeli officials have admitted that at best, it could only delay Iran's nuclear programme, not destroy it totally.

"Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said that weapons of mass destruction are a sin," Salehi underscored. "If there are problems, they belong to the U.S. and Western States."
