Iran to unveil first indigenous virtual fuel plant

Deputy Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) Asghar Zarean said that on April 9, the Iranian National Day of Peaceful Nuclear Technology, a virtual fuel plant, 3 radiopharmaceuticals, and a new product in the field of environment protection will be unveiled.

He said that President Hassan Rouhani and AEOI chief Ali Akbar Salehi will attend the ceremony, during which the new nuclear achievements are to be unveiled, Fars news agency reported April 8.

Under international pressure, Iran has pursued its nuclear program by using domestic capabilities.

Tehran stresses that its indigenous nuclear technology serves peaceful purposes such as power generation, production of radiopharmaceuticals, and research in agriculture, medicine, and other fields.

Western countries' growing concern with the Iran's nuclear activities has led to the imposition of numerous economic sanctions on the Islamic Republic.

But through persistent negotiations, Tehran has managed to get to a framework agreement with world powers on its nuclear program. The agreement provisions a comprehensive deal and the removal of the sanctions by July 1.
