Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Afghanistan in the near future, spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Marziya Afkham was quoted Jan. 14 by the Iranian news agency ISNA as saying.
She said that a program of the visit is being prepared and the visit will be made in the near future.
"Iran and the new Afghan government are negotiating," she said. "Afghanistan and Iran are two neighboring countries and the relations between them are being developed. A document, aimed at comprehensive development of cooperation and relations between the two countries, is being prepared."
She said that President of Afghanistan Mohammad Ashraf Ghani will visit Iran.
