Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Kumar Doval arrived in Tehran on Feb. 9 morning to discuss security issues with Iranian officials, Iran's Fars news agency reported.

Doval's visit came upon an official invitation by Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council.

Heading a high-ranking security-political delegation Doval is scheduled to meet with Shamkhani as well as other Iranian political and security officials.

Doval who is the chief executive of the India's National Security Council (NSC) will discuss latest regional and global political and security developments with the officials of the Islamic Republic.

Doval and Shamkhani are also expected to seek ways for further expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and India.
