A delegation from the European Parliament arrived in Tehran on May 6, deputy speaker of the Iranian parliament, Hossein Sheikholeslam said.
The eight-member European parliamentary delegation is headed by the Chairman of the European Committee on Foreign Affairs Elmar Brok, Sheikholeslam said, Iran's official IRNA news agency reported.
He stressed that the visit is taking place upon an official invitation by Chairman of the Iranian Parliament's Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi.
The European delegation is scheduled to hold talks with senior Iranian officials during their two-day stay in Tehran, Sheikholeslam added.
A French parliamentary delegation also is scheduled to visit Tehran on June 8 to discuss latest regional and international developments.
The French parliamentary delegation will visit Tehran upon an invitation made by Vice Chairman of Iran's parliament Foreign Policy and National Security Commission Ahmad Reza Dastgheyb.
During its four-day stay in Tehran, the five-member French delegation will confer bilateral relations and international developments with the Iranian officials.
The French delegation's visit to Tehran is aimed at developing bilateral ties and expanding mutual cooperation.
