Iranian Minister of Interior Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli visited Afghanistan on Sept. 3 to attend an international conference on ways to rebuild the Afghan economy.

Alongside attending the international conference dubbed Regional Economic Cooperation Conference on Afghanistan (RECCA)-VI, Fazli will discuss bilateral relations with the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abullah and other high ranking officials, IRNA reported.

The Iranian minister is expected to deliver a speech at the conference in Kabul attended by 40 delegations from 30 countries.

Trade Attaché at the Afghan Embassy in Tehran Abdolhadi Farhang told Trend on April 25 that the two countries' trade turnover has boomed from $100 million to $2.5 billion. According to him, Iran 's export to Afghanistan stands at about $2.5 billion and its import from Afghanistan at about $50 billion.
